Executive Chairman

Datuk Tiah graduated with a Bachelor of Science from University of Malaya and obtained Masters in Business Management from Asian Institute of Management, Phillippines. He started his career as a manager of Malaysian International Merchant Bankers Bhd from year 1972 to year 1978. He joined Credit Leasing Corporation Sdn Bhd (“CLC”) as an Executive Director from year 1978 to 1987.

Datuk Tiah Thee Kian, the Executive Chairman of TA Enterprise Berhad is the substantial shareholder and co-founder of TA Enterprise Berhad. He joined TA Securities Berhad as a General Manager in September 1987 and was appointed the Managing Director and Executive Chairman in November 1988 and July 1995 respectively. In year 1990, he initiated the public listing of the stockbroking business of TA Securities Sdn Bhd under TA Enterprise Berhad and took over the helm as the Executive Chairman and Managing Director of TA Enterprise Berhad in October 1990, a position that he held till May 2002. On 16 August 2007, Datuk Tiah resumed his position as the Executive Chairman of TA Enterprise Berhad.

As a financial person, Datuk Tiah brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in financial and corporate matters. He is conversant in share investments and property development both in Malaysia and overseas. As the Executive Chairman of TA Enterprise Berhad, Datuk Tiah provides the vision and strategic direction to propel the TA Group to greater heights.

DATIN TAN KUAY FONG
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer

Datin Tan graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) Degree from University of Malaya and holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting from the same university. She is the co-founder of TA Enterprise Berhad. Datin Tan joined TA Securities Berhad in 1987 as an Executive Director and was appointed the Managing Director in July 1995. She resigned from the board of TA Securities Berhad in June 2003 to concentrate more on the property investments and other business activities of the TA Group.

She was appointed as Executive Director of TA Enterprise Berhad on 13 March 1990 and subsequently was appointed as its Executive Chairman on 10 May 2002. On 16 August 2007 she was re-designated as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of TA Enterprise Berhad.

Datin Tan has gathered extensive experience in financial services, property management and property development. Her experience and expertise incorporate strategic development, operational planning and implementation, international business expansion and overall business management. Now as the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of TA Enterprise Berhad, she continues to impart her business acumen and skills to the TA Group’s corporate activities.

DATO' SRI MOHAMED BIN ABID
Executive Director

Dato’ Sri Mohamed studied Business Management at The MARA Institute of Technology and was admitted as a Member of the British Institute of Management.

He started his career as a Shipping Executive and later promoted to Manager in P & O Steam Navigation Co. Ltd, Singapore & London from 1964 to 1973. In 1974, he joined MISC Coastal Services Sdn Bhd as Marketing Manager and later promoted to Director and General Manager until 1983.

Subsequently, he was appointed General Manager of MISC Agencies Sdn Bhd until 1986. In 1987, Dato’ Sri Mohamed was appointed as Managing Director of East & West Maritime Sdn Bhd. In 1989, he established JB Distripark Sdn Bhd and held the position of Executive Director. He then joined the Board of TA Enterprise Berhad as the Executive Director on 1 July 1995.

Dato’ Sri Mohamed has extensive experience in the shipping industry and held various senior positions, both locally and abroad. Over the years, his established network of local and international business contacts have been invaluable to the growth and development of the TA Group. In addition, he has actively been involved in building the corporate and public image of the TA Group. He also sits on the Boards of a number of companies within the TA Group.

PUAN ZAINAB BINTI AHMAD
Executive Director

Puan Zainab graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from the ITM/University of Ohio.

She started her career in June 1983 with A.T. Securities Sdn Bhd as the General Manager. She then joined TA Securities Sdn Bhd as a Director in December 1987 till October 1990.

Subsequently, she was appointed an Executive Director of TA Enterprise Berhad on 13 March 1990, a position she holds to-date. She also sits on the Boards of a number of companies within the TA Group.

MR PETER U CHIN WEI
Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Peter U Chin Wei is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales. He joined the MUI Group as General Manager in year 1981 and held the position till year 1989. Thereafter, he sat on the Board of Pegi Malaysia Berhad as an Executive Director in year 1989 till year 1990.

He then joined TA Enterprise Berhad as Executive Director in October 1990 till October 1998. Thereafter, he was appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of TA Enterprise Berhad in July 1999. He also sits on the Boards of Kumpulan Europlus Berhad, a public listed company and Asian Outreach (M) Berhad, a public company.

MR JORY LEONG KAM WENG
Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Jory Leong Kam Weng holds a Bachelor of Economics Degree and a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Monash University, Australia. He is a Certified Public Accountant of CPA Australia and a Chartered Accountant of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He is also a certified mediator on the panel of the Malaysian Mediation Centre, Bar Council Malaysia. He was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1989.

In February 1992, he joined TA Enterprise Berhad as the Group Legal Manager and served in that position until July 1995. He was the Vice President, International Division of TA Enterprise Berhad from November 1993 to October 1995. Between November 1995 to February 1997, he held the position of General Manager/Director of TA First Credit Sdn Bhd. He also held the post of Executive Director of TA Bank of Philippines, Inc from March 1997 to June 1998 and from June 1998 to July 1999, he was the Chief Executive Officer of TA Securities Berhad.

Since July 1999, he has been a Partner of Messrs Iza Ng Yeoh & Kit as a practicing Advocate and Solicitor. He was appointed as Independent Non-Executive Director of TA Enterprise Berhad on 19 May 2003. He also sits on the Board of Asian Outreach (M) Sdn Bhd, a public company.

MR CHRISTOPHER KOH SWEE KIAT
Independent Non-Executive Director

Mr Christopher Koh Swee Kiat graduated with a LL.B (Hons) from the University of Malaya and was called to the High Court of Malaya as an Advocate and Solicitor in March 1993. He also holds an ACCA postgraduate diploma in Accounting and Finance.

He was the Head of Legal Affairs Department for TA Securities Berhad. He has negotiated and prepared the legal documentation for the various overseas ventures of the Company including a bank and stockbroking companies in over four countries. He was previously an in-house counsel for MasterCard International in its Asia Pacific regional office in Singapore.

Thereafter, in January 2005, he established Messrs Chris Koh & Chew, Advocates & Solicitor and on 24 May 2006, he was appointed to the Board of TA Enterprise Berhad as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

He specialises in corporate, commercial and finance matters including merger and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, corporate finance, listing of companies and matters relating to industrial disputes. His scope of responsibilities include extending legal advice to the TA Group of Companies as well as to assist in the acquisition of business interest on behalf of the TA Group.

PUAN RAHMAH BINTI MAHMOOD
Independent Non-Executive Director

Puan Rahmah Binti Mahmood holds a double Bachelor of Science degree in both Marketing and Mass Communications from Syracuse University, New York. She also obtained a Master in Journalism (PR) from the University of Southern California (USC).

She started her own automotive spares manufacturing company, Malaysian Automotive Lighting Sdn Bhd about 20 years ago in Penang with Robert Bosch Gmbh as the initial partners and later with Magnetti Mirelli of Italy. Malaysian Automotive Lighting Sdn Bhd is now a global manufacturing partnership with Automotive Lighting Reutlingen Gmbh, Germany, manufacturing automotive head lamps and rear lamps for companies such as Proton, Perodua, Suzuki, Mazda and other international car manufacturers and she is still currently the Director and shareholder of Malaysian Automotive Lighting Sdn Bhd. She is also the Chairman and Managing Director of Syarikat Mahmood Ambak & Sons Sdn Bhd since year 1988, a trading company supplying automotive spares to the Ministry of Defence of Malaysia and the Royal Police Force of Malaysia for the last 20 years.

She has also diversified her business dealings into Independent Environmental Monitoring. She sits on the Board of Spanfield Sdn Bhd and Clearwater Towers Sdn Bhd, an environmental company.

She joined TA Enterprise Berhad on 16 August 2007 as Independent Non-Executive Director, a position she holds to-date. She also sits on the Board of TA Investment Management Berhad, a public company which is 70% owned by TA Enterprise Berhad.

She has over 25 years of experience in business management, contract negotiations and manufacturing practices. She also has assisted the Malaysian government in bringing in foreign investment into the country especially in the field of manufacturing.

MR TIAH JOO KIM
Deputy Chief Executive Officer – TA Enterprise Berhad

Mr Tiah Joo Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from Oral Roberts University, Tulsa, Oklahoma and a Masters Degree in International Business from Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia.

Joo Kim's first formal work experience was with the Holborn Group, an investment holding entity based in Vancouver, Canada primarily involved in developing and managing real estate assets. During his stewardship with the Holborn Group from 2003-2006, he was responsible for numerous property development projects which he spearheaded from acquisition to actual delivery of units. He also managed several investment property assets for the group during this tenor. He last held the position of Chief Operating Officer and Director with the Holborn Group.

Subsequently Joo Kim pursued his career in finance in Singapore with ABN AMRO Private Clients; as an Equity Product Specialist from May 2006- 2007. During this period, he maintained an accurate track record with all his Buy calls being positive and subsequently was transferred to a front line position in May 2007 as an Associate of ABN AMRO Private Clients Investment Advisory Group, Singapore where he was responsible for the provision of investment guidance and analysis to clients and private bankers regarding all asset classes.

In April 2008 he choose to return to Malaysia to be reunited with his family after being abroad for over a decade and hence joined TA Enterprise Berhad as Director of Business Development, Chairman's Office at the end of May 2008. He was promoted to Deputy CEO on August 1st, 2008; a position that he holds to date.

Joo Kim brings sound knowledge, expertise and experience in all investment asset classes which include Properties, Equities, Debt Capital Markets, Foreign Exchange, Commodities, Structured Products, Mutual Funds and Alternatives; as well as a new breath of energy and exuberance to the TA Group of Companies.

MS KIMMY KHOO POH KIM
Company Secretary and Group General Manager – TA Enterprise Berhad

Executive Director Operations – TA Properties Sdn Bhd

Ms Kimmy Khoo graduated with a Bachelor of Art (Hons) Degree from the University of Malaya and was admitted as an Affiliate Member of the Malaysian Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators. She also holds a Company Secretary Licence issued by the Companies Commission of Malaysia.

She started her career in stockbroking with A.T. Securities Sdn Bhd from 1986 to 1987. Thereafter, she joined TA Securities Berhad in 1987 and was appointed the Company Secretary and Group General Manager of TA Enterprise Berhad in 1990 and 1999 respectively, the positions she holds to-date. In addition to her role as the Company Secretary and Group General Manager of TA Enterprise Berhad, she also resumed the position of Executive Director Operations of TA Properties Sdn Bhd and oversee the day-to-day operations, systems control and management function of the TA Group’s property development and property management division. She personally oversees the offshore properties of TA Group located in Vancouver and Sydney.

Ms Kimmy Khoo also sits on the Board of a number of subsidiary companies of TA Enterprise Berhad in Malaysia and overseas, which are mainly involved in investment holding, property development, construction and management business and hotel operations.

Ms Kimmy Khoo is technically competent and conversant in the day-to-day management and operations of a stockbroking company and was one of the pioneer personnel involved in the preparation of the operational manuals and system for call warrants, unit trust and Mesdaq for TA Securities Sdn Bhd. In her 20 years with the TA Group, Ms Kimmy Khoo has garnered extensive management skills, knowledge and exposure in several industries such as stockbroking, investment management, hotel management and property management.

MR YAW CHUN SOON
Executive Director Operations - TA Securities Holdings Berhad

Mr Yaw graduated with a Bachelor of Laws Degree from University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. He completed the Management Development Program at the Asian Institute of Management, Manila, Philippines in 1995. Mr Yaw is a Barrister & Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. He was called to the Malaysian Bar and practiced law as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1987.

After 6 years of law practice, he left to join TA Securities Berhad as a Senior Manager of the Legal Affairs Department in November 1993 till May 1996. He was appointed as General Manager-Operations and Executive Director of Botly Securities Sdn Bhd in May 1996 and November 1997 respectively.

Thereafter, he was seconded to Philippines and appointed as Corporate Finance Director of TA Bank of the Philippines, Inc. and Director of Philippines TA Securities Inc. from May 1998 till October 1998. Subsequently, he returned to Malaysia and was appointed as General Manager in TA Securities Berhad.

In November 1999, he was appointed to the Board of TA Securities Berhad and in August 2004, he was appointed as Executive Director – Operations of TA Securities Holdings Berhad, a position he holds to-date.

Mr. Yaw was the President of the Association of Stockbroking Companies in Malaysia (“ASCM”) from 2004 to 2006 and a committee member of ASCM since year 2000. He also sits on the Board of other companies within the TA Group.

EN ATTAN AKMAR BIN MASBAH
Executive Director Dealing – TA Securities Holdings Berhad

En Attan graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (Hons) Degree, majoring in Accounting from the University of Malaya. He obtained his Diploma in Banking & Finance from the Institute of Bankers Malaysia and is a Senior Associate Member of the Institute of Bankers Malaysia. He also had successfully completed the MESDAQ Registered Dealers’ Representative Examination having satisfied the requirements of the Malaysian Exchange of Securities Dealing & Automated Quotation Bhd.

En Attan started his career with POS Malaysia Berhad in the Postal Services Department in 1970. He later joined Citibank Berhad as an Executive Trainee and served the bank for 4 years. Subsequently, he joined Perwira Affin Bank Berhad where he served for 10 years rising to the position of General Manager. En Attan later moved to Golden Roots Food Manufacturing Sdn Bhd as a joint Managing Director in charge of Marketing, Finance and Administration.

In 1990 En Attan joined TA Securities Holdings Berhad as a Dealer’s Representative and in January 2000, he was appointed as an Executive Director Dealing of the Company. In September 2002, he was also appointed as a Non-Executive Director of TA Futures Sdn Bhd.

Mr Daniel Lim graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering (First Class Honours) and obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the same university. He is also a registered Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Board, Singapore.

He started his career in Singapore and had worked there for 9 years before returning to Malaysia in 1992. Upon his return to Malaysia, he was the General Manager of a construction firm in Johor Bahru, he subsequently joined a resort developer as the Operations Director. In 1999, he moved to Kuala Lumpur and joined MK Project Management Sdn Bhd for 5 years and his last position held was the Senior General Manager. Thereafter, Mr Daniel Lim was appointed the Director of Property Development of Malton Berhad. Subsequently, he was the Group General Manager of Glomac Berhad for 2 years.

He was then appointed as Chief Operating Officer of TA Properties Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of TA Enterprise Berhad in September 2007 and is currently in charge of property development division. He has in total of 24 years of experience in construction and property development in Malaysia and the regional areas in Asia. He also has vast experience of property development in resort, residential home and condominium, office and commercial complex.

Mr Edmund Kong Woon Jun obtained his Bachelor of Architecture (Honors) in 1989 from University of Wales Institute of Science and Technology (UWIST), Wales, United Kingdom.

He started his career as an Architect at Robertson Francis Partnership, Cardiff, Wales. After returning to Malaysia in 1994, he joined BEP Arkitek Sdn Bhd as Senior Architect in-charge of many high-end property developments. In 2003, he took up the appointment as the Director, Project and Product Planning at Perdana ParkCity Sdn Bhd, where he played a major role in the planning and design of the 473-acre township development of Desa ParkCity. This township development had set a new benchmark in lifestyle living environment.

In April 2008, he joined TA Properties Sdn Bhd as the Director of Planning and Design. His primary responsibilities are to introduce innovative designs and to deliver high quality products that meet purchasers’ needs and expectations. With his experience, knowledge and management skill in various types of property developments and township planning, he is able to lead the property team in ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in the implementation of projects that undertake by the Company. Mr Edmund Kong was appointed as Chief Operating Officer of TA Properties Sdn Bhd in August 2008.

Mr Edmund Kong is currently a member of the Architects Registration Board (ARB) in United Kingdom and also a corporate member of Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM).

Mr Wong graduated with Bachelor of Science (Honours) majoring in Mathematics from University of Malaya. He is also a Certified Financial Planner of the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia.

He started his career in December 1987 with American International Assurance Berhad as Trainer and moving up to the position of Assistant Director of Agency and held the position till April 2000. He then joined HLB Unit Trust Management Berhad in May 2000 as Head of Sales and Marketing till March 2002.

Thereafter, in April 2002, he was appointed as General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of KL City Unit Trust Berhad, a position he holds till October 2007 where merger exercise took place, He was then with Alliance Investment Management Berhad as Head of Sales and Marketing from November 2007 to February 2008.

In March 2008, he was appointed as Chief Executive Officer of TA Investment Management Berhad. Currently, he is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of TA Investment Management Berhad, which manages unit trust funds and portfolio clients.

Mr Choo Swee Kee graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from The National University of Singapore (recipient of Singapore Govt bursary grant). He is a Chartered Financial Analyst holder from the Association for Investment Management and Research, U.S.A.

He started his career as an Auditor in Coopers & Lybrand Singapore (now known as PriceWaterhouse Coopers) from November 1987 to December 1989. In January 1990, Mr Choo joined Chase Manhattan Bank, Singapore (now known as JP Morgan Chase Bank) as an Investment Officer until May 1992. Thereafter, he was appointed as Assistant Manager in Schroder Investment Management (Singapore) Limited in June 1992, assisting senior fund managers in the investment operations, a position he held till September 1995.

Subsequently, Mr Choo joined Vickers Ballas Research (M) as a Senior Analyst in October 1995 till June 1997 and in July 1997, he joined Daiwa Securities Adviser (M) as a Senior Analyst and held the position till January 1999. He was then appointed as Senior Fund Manager of KLCS Asset Management Sdn Bhd in April 1999 till June 2005.

In July 2005, he joined TA Investment Management Berhad as Senior Fund Manager. He was then appointed as Deputy Chief Investment Officer and was later promoted to Chief Investment Officer in December 2006 as Head of the Investment Team and lead the Investment Working Committee meetings. In January 2008, Mr Choo was appointed Executive Director of TA Investment Management Berhad.

Mr Choo is responsible for the overall strategy and asset allocation decision of the investment process. He also oversees all the fund managers and analysts and participate in marketing duties such as making presentations to IUTAs, unit trust agency force, individual and corporate clients. He also provides talks and/or seminars to the public and media.

Mr Laren Tan Kian Seng graduated with Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from University of London, England. He was called as an Utter Barrister of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, England. He also chambered with one of the Republic’s leading criminal set of chambers of Messrs Palakrishnan and Partners in Singapore where he was involved in criminal, civil as well as corporate matters. After successfully completing his chambers he was called to the Supreme Court of Singapore as an Advocate and Solicitor.

Mr Laren joined TA Securities Bhd in September 1995 as a Legal Officer for a short stint before moving to TA Futures Sdn Bhd to pioneer the Compliance Department. In 1996 he was invited to speak at the Futures & Options World Conference 1996 on the Role of the Compliance Officer in the derivatives industry and was elected as an Ordinary Management Committee Member of the Malaysian Futures Brokers Association in February 2000.

Mr Laren was appointed as Executive Director of TA Futures Sdn Bhd in August 2000, a position he holds till August 2006. In August 2006, he joined Ginga Petroleum, an energy broking company to head their palm oil and biofuels desk. He was later made Executive Director of Ginga Global Markets, the futures broking arm of Ginga Petroleum.

Mr Laren returned to join the TA Group and was appointed as Executive Director Dealings of TA Futures Sdn Bhd in February 2009.

He is also a member of the Stock Index Options Rollout Committee and the Sub Working Group on Online Trading and Electronic Record Keeping, both representing the futures brokers.

Mr Lim qualified in Book-Keeping from Pitman Examinations Institute, London and The London Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He started his career in 1976 as an Audit Clerk in Lim Siang Guan & Co. till 1979. He then joined FELDA as the Internal Audit Clerk in 1980. In July 1980, he joined Metroplex Berhad as an Account Executive, a position he held till January 1990. Thereafter, Mr Lim was attached to TA Securities Berhad for a period of approximately 12 years in various departments, among others, are Accounts, Margin, Front Office and Documentation holding various job positions.

In June 2003, Mr Lim was appointed a Senior Manager of TA Futures Sdn Bhd. Subsequently, he was appointed as Executive Director Operations of TA Futures Sdn Bhd in August 2006. Currently, he is in charge of the management and implementation of policies on operations and credit control of TA Futures Sdn Bhd.

Ms Chen graduated with a Bachelor of Economics Degree from the University of Malaya.

Prior joining the TA Group of companies, she was working for the United Overseas Banking Group for 15 years in various positions including Branch Manager.

She joined TA Securities Berhad as Manager of Dealing Department in April 1996. She was later attached to Margin department and subsequently to Credit Control and Loans Recovery department. She gained vast experience during her working attachments in these departments.

Ms Chen took over the management and business development duties of TA First Credit Sdn Bhd in 1999. This is the credit and lending subsidiary of the TA Group. Currently, she is a Director of TA First Credit Sdn Bhd and also sits on the Boards of a few companies within the TA Group.

Mr Robert Ti graduated with a Masters of Business Administration from Cranfield School of Management, United Kingdom. He is also a member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

In year 1982, Mr Robert joined Malayan United Industries, Kuala Lumpur as Group Corporate Planner / Group Treasurer till year 1990. Thereafter, he ventured overseas and joined DMT Corporation SA, Jakarta as Deputy Managing Director up to 1998. He was then appointed as Managing Director of Chimney Alliance Group Ltd, a listed company in Hong Kong in year 1999, a position he held till 2001.

Mr Robert returned to Malaysia in 2001 and then joined PM Securities, Kuala Lumpur as Head of Corporate Finance from year 2002 to 2006. In between the years, he undertook a special assignment in London as Head of Restructuring of Laura Ashley plc, London for 9 months in year 2005, where he was part of the team to turnaround the loss operations of the well known retailing name.

Thereafter, in year 2007, he joined ECM Libra Securities, Kuala Lumpur as Head of Corporate Finance and held the position till 2008. He joined TA Securities Holdings Berhad on 23 September 2008 as Head of Corporate Finance.

Mr Robert has vast experience in corporate finance and general management. Arising from his experience abroad, he is versatile in managing operations under cross-cultural environments. He also has good mentoring skills and is a person engrained with a high sense of integrity and self-motivation.
